About the Image Bank

One of the biggest challenges with coral reefs is that they are out of sight and out of mind for many people across the globe.

Fortunately, we've taken more than a million images over the last few years, and by making our media-quality imagery easy to access and share, we are hoping to help to make the stories easy to tell.

Imagery is critical to ocean conservation. By making imagery easy to access and enticing to share, we hope everyone around the world will get on board, supporting the fight to save coral reefs during International Year of the Reef.

The Ocean Agency collated this image bank with the generous support of The Tiffany & Co. Foundation. Much of the imagery comes from our own 360-degree library of underwater images collected during the XL Catlin Seaview Survey using the revolutionary 360-degree SVII camera. Other images were donated by award-winning photographers, curated by Kate Sutter, as well as Marine Photobank, a project of SeaWeb.

How to credit the Image Bank

Imagery you find on this site is free to download and share for non-commercial use. Attribution can be found below each image in the "credit" line. Before downloading, please read the Terms & Conditions. Thank you for respecting our photographers.
