YEAR OF THE REEF
A collection of media-quality imagery and resources, made available FREE to support the global mission to save coral reefs.
Kindly supported by:
2018 has been declared the International Year of the Reef, and it couldn't have come at a more important time. Coral reefs are in crisis – they could disappear on our watch and potentially within in our lifetime. It's not too late – together, we can solve this crisis. But first, we need to raise awareness.
You've found your way to this site, so you are exactly the person we need. We've made all of these resources available free for non-commercial use so you can get creative and help make sure coral reefs are in the spotlight during this pivotal year.
This imagery is meant to be shared. The image bank was curated by The Ocean Agency, the team that took Google Street View underwater. Over the past five years, our team has taken more than a million images of coral reefs as part of the XL Catlin Seaview Survey, and to make sure they are in the spotlight this International Year of the Reef, we are making the best of them free to use (for non-commercial purposes) to help generate support and investment for coral reef conservation.
All we ask is that if you use an image, please credit those who created it and, where possible, make a donation to help us in our mission to save reefs and support the people who depend on them.
This collection is unique. It includes 360-degree imagery from The Ocean Agency, which enabled Google Street View to reveal the oceans. Please sign up for updates, as we'll be expanding our galleries with new imagery and information.
